Through the SDGs Report 2024, Telkom University reaffirms its strategic commitment to SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure by publishing progress against SDG 9, both individually and within its annual sustainability report. This reflects the university’s mission to foster innovation, strengthen industrial collaboration, and develop resilient, technology-driven infrastructure that supports sustainable development and inclusive growth.
Telkom University integrates innovation and sustainability within its academic, research, and community engagement ecosystem, ensuring that every initiative contributes to building a smarter, more connected society. One of the university’s key achievements in 2024 is the TucTuc Electric Vehicle Innovation, a student-led project that exemplifies SDG 9’s core principles by promoting eco-friendly mobility and sustainable industrialization. The TucTuc electric car operates using renewable electric power, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and cutting carbon emissions. This initiative demonstrates the university’s leadership in green technology and its contribution to advancing sustainable transportation systems for the future.
In addition, Telkom University students have created a water pH monitoring device that measures and records environmental water quality in real time. This sensor-based innovation supports data collection for environmental research, policy-making, and sustainable resource management, further emphasizing the university’s role in bridging technology and environmental stewardship.
Beyond campus-based innovation, Telkom University promotes inclusive infrastructure and innovation development through its flagship program, Innovillage. This nationwide social innovation initiative engages students, lecturers, and industry partners in designing technology-based solutions for local and rural community challenges. Innovillage not only fosters creativity and problem-solving among young innovators but also empowers local communities through training, mentorship, and sustainable implementation. To amplify its impact, the Innovillage Corner serves as a hub for showcasing innovation outcomes, connecting community-driven solutions with broader societal and industrial needs.
Furthermore, through the Digital Collaboration for Sustainability (DCS) and SDGs Center, Telkom University adopts the penta-helix collaboration model, involving academia, industry, government, media, and communities. This collaborative framework strengthens interdisciplinary research and accelerates the creation of scalable innovations that enhance national infrastructure and industrial resilience.
By embedding the Publication of SDG Reports – per SDG framework, Telkom University ensures transparency, accountability, and measurable progress in documenting its achievements under SDG 9. Through these concerted efforts, the university continues to position itself as a national leader in sustainable innovation and industrial transformation, building a future where technology, education, and collaboration drive inclusive and resilient growth.
