Empowering Communities: Telkom University's 4th Innovillage Program 2023

Telkom University has implemented the Innovillage program for the fourth time in 2023. INNOVILLAGE is a sociopreneurship competition in the digital field. Innovillage is Telkom University's flagship program, which is the result of collaboration with the Directorate of Career Development and Alumni through the Indonesia Career Center Network (ICCN), local communities, industry, and various communities, including special needs communities. Some of the more representative Innovillage jury members include from National Commission on Disability in Indonesia, Alumnus from Telkom Indonesia, Representative from Gadjah Mada University, Representative from Airlangga University and Indonesian Textile Research Institute. Innovillage is an initiative resulting from collaboration between the Telkom Community Development Center, responsible for Social and Environmental Responsibility Programs, and Telkom University as a higher education institution.

The main goal of Innovillage is to create an environment that supports innovation and the implementation of social projects for sustainable transformation that inclusively reaches all segments of society. Innovillage aims to be a platform that inspires and encourages young innovators to develop new ideas, creative solutions, and innovative products or services that benefit the community and the environment.

Telkom University actively encourages and facilitates every lecturer and student to engage in educational activities for the wider community through community service activities with various schemes and projects. Innovillage is Telkom University's flagship program, which results from collaboration with various communities, including those with special needs.

In 2023, Innovillage featured two schemes: the SDG-Based Social Impact Enhancement Scheme and the Sustainability Scheme, specifically for participants who had received funding from Innovillage in previous years. Innovillage 2023 also highlighted seven themes:

1. Best Stunting Reduction Solution

2. Best Food Scarcity Problem Solution

3. Best SME Improvement Solution

4. Best Zero Waste Solution

5. Best Carbon Neutral Solution

6. Best Applied Technology Solution

7. Best Disability Quality of Life Improvement Solution

In 2023, Innovillage successfully funded 163 social projects from across Indonesia, benefiting over 31,000 people from underprivileged communities, inclusive communities, and those in need. A variety of social projects born from this program also help students develop sensitivity to environmental issues in their surroundings and have the courage to provide solutions.

This program also embodies the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative in shaping future digital talent towards an advanced Indonesia.
