Empowering Women Through Education: Telkom University's Commitment and Mentoring Initiatives

In accordance with TELKOM UNIVERSITY REGULATION Number: PU.022/AKD01/AKD-BPA/2024 on TELKOM UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC GUIDELINES, Article 19 regarding Response / Mentoring, mentoring sessions are held for Islamic Studies, Christian Studies, Catholic Studies, and Hindu Studies courses. This mentoring is a structured learning activity in the academic education program, guided by lecturers or teaching assistants/mentors, aimed at enhancing students' understanding of course material through exercises, discussions, or other guided activities. Specifically, in the Islamic Studies mentoring sessions, female participants (students) attend sessions separately from male participants (students). The total number of female mentoring participants in 2023 (covering the even semester of AY 22/23 and the odd semester of AY 23/24) amounted to 1,445 students.

Mentoring activities are participated in by all students in the current semester. For the even semester of the 23/23 academic year, the number of female students who took part in mentoring activities was 733 students or 37.9% of the total students of 3224 students. For the odd semester of the 23/24 academic year, the number of female students who took part in mentoring activities was 672 students or 20.3% of the total student body of 3306 students.
