In alignment with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, Telkom University continues to build strong collaborations with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to address global and local sustainability challenges. These partnerships are realized through joint programs involving student volunteering, research, and the development of educational initiatives that promote environmental conservation, community empowerment, and sustainable innovation.
Throughout the year, Telkom University has undertaken a series of impactful collaborations with NGOs and community organizations to tackle the SDGs through hands-on engagement and research-based actions.
Telkom University collaborated with Pandawara Group, a well-known environmental organization, to conduct coastal cleanup activities and awareness campaigns on waste management and marine ecosystem preservation. Through these efforts, students and volunteers actively participated in restoring coastal environments while learning about practical solutions for pollution reduction.
In partnership with TJSL (Tanggung Jawab Sosial dan Lingkungan) programs and local government agencies, the university carried out multiple community empowerment activities, including:
- Carbon Measurement and Calculation Projects, conducted collaboratively with NGOs and experts to evaluate and monitor carbon footprints as part of the university’s sustainability performance framework.
- SAB (Sanitasi Air Bersih) Assistance Program, which provided clean water system support and infrastructure to local communities, improving public health and environmental hygiene.
- Tree Planting Initiatives, promoting reforestation, carbon absorption, and climate adaptation in degraded or vulnerable areas across West Java.
These programs represent Telkom University’s holistic approach to sustainable development, combining academic research, volunteerism, and environmental stewardship in collaboration with non-governmental partners.
Through these cross-sectoral partnerships, Telkom University reinforces its role as an agent of change and sustainability hub, empowering students, communities, and NGOs to work together toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
