As part of its commitment to advancing sustainability education beyond the classroom, Telkom University implements the InnovillageProgram ,a national digital sociopreneurship initiative that empowers students to design and apply technology-based solutions for social and environmental challenges within local communities.Organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Career Development and Alumni (Ditkarir), Telkom Indonesia, and the Indonesia Career Center Network (ICCN), this program reflects a multi-stakeholder partnership that embodies the spirit of SDG 17 – Partnership for the Goals.Through Innovillage, universities, government institutions, and community organizations work hand in hand to build a culture of innovation and inclusivity for sustainable development.
In 2023, the Innovillage Program successfully funded 163 social innovation projects, reaching more than 31,000 beneficiaries from underprivileged and inclusive communities across Indonesia.Building on this success, the 2024 Innovillage Program expanded its reach with 165 social projects implemented across 187 villages in 28 provinces, involving 52 universities and directly benefiting 26,397 individuals ,including children, the elderly, and people with disabilities. Each project reflects the program’s goal: to connect education, empathy, and technology in empowering communities toward self-reliance and sustainability.
Through Innovillage, Telkom University transforms learning into real impact.Students collaborate directly with local communities, alumni mentors, and civil organizations to identify real problems and implement measurable, sustainable solutions. This hands-on approach not only strengthens students’ leadership, empathy, and problem-solving abilities, but also builds meaningful connections with the communities they serve.
From children to the elderly, and people with disabilities to displaced individuals, the program ensures that no one is left behind in the journey toward sustainability.Every project incorporates values of inclusive education, environmental awareness, and social entrepreneurship, helping local communities strengthen their resilience and self-sufficiency.
Through the Innovillage Program, Telkom University extends its sustainability education beyond campus boundaries, transforming students into changemakers and communities into partners for progress. This initiative embodies the university’s belief that education is most powerful when it empowers others ,aligning with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), all under the collaborative framework of SDG 17 – Partnership for the Goals.
