Telkom University preserves two historic communication towers that stand as part of Indonesia’s early radio legacy. Once belonging to the renowned Radio Malabar station, these towers reflect the nation’s pioneering role in global communication history and symbolize Telkom University’s commitment to safeguarding cultural and technological heritage.
Originally established by the Dutch East Indies government in 1917 and inaugurated in 1923, Radio Malabar was the first station to enable long-distance communication between the Dutch East Indies and the Netherlands spanning over 12,000 kilometers.
