Academic–Industry Partnership for Digital Innovation
A major highlight of Telkom University’s SDG 17 initiatives is its strategic collaboration with PT Sagara Asia Technology, established to strengthen digital innovation and future talent development.
Formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Prof. Adiwijaya (Rector of Telkom University) and Afan Ramdani (CEO of PT Sagara Asia Technology), the partnership integrates the Tri Dharma of Higher Education—education, research, and community service—into a cohesive framework of collaboration.
The cooperation provides internship opportunities for students, supports joint research and digital ecosystem development, and promotes technological independence and sustainable innovation in Indonesia. This partnership reflects Telkom University’s strategic role in bridging academia and industry to advance the nation’s digital transformation.
Empowering Communities Through Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration
Telkom University also works closely with government institutions, private sectors, and community organizations to implement inclusive social empowerment programs, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
One notable initiative is the joint program with Telkom Indonesia at SD Negeri 16 Temajuk, West Kalimantan, where the university helped improve learning facilities by providing classroom furniture, educational materials, and infrastructure support for more than 100 students.
This project not only enhances educational equality but also exemplifies how multi-stakeholder partnerships can generate direct, measurable benefits for local communities while contributing simultaneously to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Digital Collaboration for Sustainability (DCS) as a Hub for Partnerships
Through the Digital Collaboration for Sustainability (DCS) Center, Telkom University continues to serve as a national and regional hub for partnership-based sustainability initiatives.
Operating under a penta-helix collaboration model, DCS brings together academia, business, government, community, and media to conduct joint research, develop digital innovations, and build capacity for sustainability-oriented policies and practices.
The DCS Center’s mission is to amplify the impact of collaboration by leveraging digital technology to achieve measurable sustainability outcomes—supporting SDG integration across Indonesia, ASEAN, and global networks.
Commitment to Transparency and Inclusive Collaboration
By adhering to the principle of Publication of SDG Reports – per SDG, Telkom University ensures transparency, accountability, and accessibility in communicating its progress against SDG 17.
These collaborative efforts highlight the university’s belief that global challenges can only be addressed through inclusive, innovative, and sustained partnerships built on mutual trust and shared purpose.
Conclusion
Through its diverse network of academic, industrial, and community partnerships, Telkom University continues to lead as a catalyst for education-driven sustainable development.
By combining research excellence, digital collaboration, and global cooperation, the university reaffirms its role as a key enabler of SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, inspiring collective action toward a more equitable, innovative, and sustainable future.
