Telkom University’s Commitment to Sustainable Hydration: Free Drinking Water Facilities Across Campus

Each Tel-U Fresh dispenser is connected to an internal water purification system that transforms tap water into ready-to-drink water using four filtration methods: sedimentation filter, pro carbon filter, natural filter, and nano positive filter. The water quality has been tested and accredited by the UPTD Laboratory of Energy and Mineral Resources and the National Accreditation Committee, ensuring it is safe and hygienic for daily consumption.

Currently, over 20 dispensers have been strategically placed in faculty buildings, student centers, and dormitory areas, allowing the academic community to refill water bottles conveniently throughout the day. In addition to these free dispenser facilities, larger bottled versions of Tel-U Fresh water are also available for purchase at canteens—priced affordably at IDR 2,000 for small bottles and IDR 3,000 for large bottles—for those who prefer to carry bottled water.

Through this system, Telkom University successfully reduces the campus’s dependency on single-use plastics while promoting eco-friendly habits and accessible hydration for everyone.

Conclusion

By providing free and safe drinking water access through its Tel-U Fresh dispenser network, Telkom University demonstrates a tangible commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and health. This initiative not only supports SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) but also encourages the Tel-U community to embrace environmentally conscious lifestyles in their daily routines.
