Through the SDGs Report 2024, Telkom University has demonstrated its strong commitment to sustainable development by publishing progress against SDG 1 – No Poverty, both individually and as part of its annual sustainability report. The university views poverty as a collective challenge and collaborates with multiple stakeholders to develop smart, innovative, and technology-driven solutions that empower communities. One of the flagship initiatives in 2024 is SiMonA (Smart Integrated Monitoring for Agriculture), an intelligent platform designed to help farmers increase productivity and income through real-time monitoring of soil, weather, and crop conditions. This innovation enables data-based decision-making for more efficient and sustainable agriculture, directly contributing to the achievement of SDG 1 (No Poverty).
In addition to these practical efforts, Telkom University also strengthens its academic contribution by producing 15 scientific publications in reputable journals and conferences. These studies explore various themes such as poverty alleviation, financial inclusion, and economic resilience, including the use of machine learning to predict financial distress, analyses of financial technology for banking stability, and e-commerce data models for poverty prediction.
Moreover, through the Digital Collaboration for Sustainability (DCS) and the SDGs Center, Telkom University actively initiates and participates in cross-sectoral dialogue about the SDGs, involving government agencies, NGOs, academia, industries, and the media. Using a penta-helix collaboration model, the university promotes digital innovation and inclusive growth that align with both SDG 1 and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through these initiatives, Telkom University reinforces its role as an SDG Hub that systematically publishes progress on each SDG, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement toward achieving sustainable development by 2030.
