Telkom University Strengthens Partnerships with Government and NGOs in Advancing SDG Policy Development

Telkom University actively strengthens its partnerships with national and regional governments, as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to support the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of policies related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This commitment aligns with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, emphasizing collaborative efforts to achieve sustainable progress through policy dialogue, evidence-based recommendations, and innovative interventions.

In 2025, Telkom University played a significant role in providing expert input and active participation in multiple SDG-related initiatives involving government institutions, NGOs, and international organizations.

Collaboration with National Governments:

  1. ESD-Net 2030 Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting: Telkom University served as the only university from Indonesia participating in the ESD-Net 2030 Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting on Transforming Education for a Sustainable Asia-Pacific Region, held in collaboration with the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO. The event facilitated multi-stakeholder dialogue on integrating sustainability principles into education systems across the region.
  2. ESD Country Initiative Indonesia: Telkom University contributed to the formulation of Indonesia’s ESD Country Initiative, working alongside the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO to design strategies that advance sustainable education and lifelong learning.
  3. VR Expo Osaka: Telkom University showcased innovation in sustainable digital technology by presenting a customized Virtual Reality (VR) experience featuring the Ministry of Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia, highlighting how immersive technology can support policy communication and education.

Collaboration with NGOs and International Organizations

  1. International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Asia-Pacific Regional Development Forum 2023: Telkom University participated in the Indonesia briefing sessions, contributing insights on digital innovation and sustainable development in the telecommunication sector.
  2. ASEAN IVO Membership and Steering Committee: As a member and steering committee participant of the ASEAN IVO (Information and Communications Technology Virtual Organization), Telkom University supports initiatives aligned with the SDGs and ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) principles, focusing on cross-border research and policy-driven collaboration.
